Prairie Birding at Its Best!
June 6 - 12, 2020
Join Eric Ripma to explore the prairies and potholes of North Dakota. Eric has spent countless hours surveying the region while working for the Bird Conservancy of the Rockies and knows the area extremely well! He'll use his experience and expertise to find many of the specialty species of the region such as Red-necked and Clark’s Grebes, Ferruginous Hawk, Long-billed Curlew, Sprague’s Pipit, Baird’s, LeConte’s and Nelson’s Sparrows, and Chestnut-collared and McCown’s Longspurs. If we are lucky, we might even catch a glimpse of the elusive Yellow Rail.
He will focus not only on finding and showing you the birds but really teaching you about them. From identification tips and tricks to conservation issues that are affecting the birds, he will work to give you a deep understanding of the birds and habitats of the Prairie Pothole Region. Sabrewing Nature Tour’s focus on a small group environment will allow our leaders to work closely with you throughout the trip.
