Panama: Canopy Tower & Camp
January 19 - 31, 2018
Panama offers some of the most exciting birding in all of North America as well as some pretty amazing lodging options. Our tour will take us first Canopy Camp, in the little explored Darién province. Then, we’ll continue onto the extremely unique Canopy Tower, a former US Air Force radar tower in the midst of Soberanía National Park that’s been turned into a beautiful property to give you eye-level looks at birds and other wildlife.
Until recently, not many birders had the opportunity to visit the Darién but that all changed when Canopy Camp opened a few years ago. This amazing African safari tent camp makes exploring the region easy and comfortable! In addition to the wonderful birding on the Camp property, we'll make day trips to other areas in the Darién to find many of the special species that call this area home.
We'll spend the final part of our tour at the world-famous Canopy Tower! From here we will have easy access to all of the amazing birding locations in central Panama such as Pipeline Road, Cerro Azul, and Metropolitan Natural Park.
