North Woods CBC, AND IT'S FREE!
For people interested in joining a true North Woods Christmas Bird Count, here is your opportunity. This NEW Christmas Count is FREE, and open to the public! Sabrewing Nature Tours has been approved for a brand new Christmas Bird Count in the wilds of the Eastern Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Specifically, the count circle includes some of the very best habitat in the Great Lakes for boreal specialties, owls and "winter finches". Every year is different of course, but we are anticipating excellent opportunities for many of the species that make our Northern Michigan Birding and Photo Tours so popular: Bohemian Waxwing, Pine Grosbeak, Sharp-tailed Grouse, and of course the owls, including Great Gray and Northern Hawk-owl.
